Mazza Punk

The Word Behind the Dish

Why Matzah?

Matzah (מַצָּה) — Hebrew. The unleavened bread Jews eat during Passover. Flat, crispy, unrisen — a reminder of the hasty exodus from Egypt when there was no time to let bread rise.

For thousands of years, matzah was the ultimate symbol of humility and simplicity. Plain. Unadorned. Pure.

We took that and dipped it in dark chocolate. Added sea salt. Neon sprinkles. A drizzle of Hutzpa sauce. Because rules were made to be broken — even the ancient ones.

Mazza Punk is not rebellion. It's evolution. The matzah is still there. It just got a makeover.
